What is it?

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a weekly injection that lowers blood glucose in adults with type 2 diabetes. Mounjaro has also been shown in clinical trials to help with weight loss used in combination with diet and exercise. The FDA has not approved it as a weight loss drug.

How to take Mounjaro?

The recommended starting dosage of Mounjaroยฎ is 2.5 mg. After 4 weeks, doses may be increased in 2.5 mg increments, as tolerated, up to a maximum of 15 mg once weekly. Doses are set and monitored by your provider and may be adjusted to help patients meet their weight loss and health goals.

What are the side effects?

Side effects can include: Nausea, diarrhea, decreased appetite, vomiting, constipation, and abdominal pain. Talk to your provider if any side effects become bothersome.
